Join Us for Our 3rd Annual 5K Fun Run & 1 Mile Survivor Walk!

Crystal Coast Cancer Rehab Center presents the 3rd annual 5K Fun Run in historic downtown Beaufort on Saturday, October 14 at 8:00am.

All race proceeds go toward offsetting operational costs to keep our program accessible and affordable for our local Cancer Survivors. We work to empower local survivors' bodies and minds through oncology specific exercise training programs that help them fight back against the devastating effects of their cancer diagnoses and treatment.

We invite you to support the cause and join us for the race!

WORKING TO BATTLE CANCER ONE PERSON AT A TIME

Cancer does not discriminate. It crosses socioeconomic, cultural, and gender lines with no regard for the damage it causes. Cancer erodes hope and challenges faith. Cancer destroys lives and devastates families. But cancer doesn’t get to win. We can fight back. We can defy. We can resist.

Exercise is an important factor in reducing the incidence of cancer as well as improving outcomes in those touched by cancer. Staying active throughout chemotherapy and radiation is an important yet often overlooked aspect of care.  It requires instruction and supervision by qualified professionals with specialized training in oncology rehabilitation and exercise. Many of those diagnosed with cancer do not have access to quality fitness because of financial restrictions due to the cost of cancer treatments. By having access to oncology specific exercise, individuals are given the tools to fight back against the devastating effects of cancer.

“As a Certified Public Accountant, exercise had been my stress outlet prior to my diagnosis, however after my surgery I was unsure what I could/should do and how quickly. Jacob Miller and the program assessed my capabilities after surgery, monitored each and every sessions and challenged me to get back to my pre-surgery strength, cardio and endurance levels."
