Helping Cancer Survivors Thrive

Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that takes place on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Giving Tuesday provides an opportunity for people to give back to their community and support causes they are passionate about. As a cancer rehab charity, we rely on the generosity of our donors to continue providing vital resources and support to those impacted by cancer. By participating in Giving Tuesday, you can make a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families. Join us in this worldwide movement of kindness and generosity.

WORKING TO BATTLE CANCER ONE PERSON AT A TIME

Cancer does not discriminate. It crosses socioeconomic, cultural, and gender lines with no regard for the damage it causes. Cancer erodes hope and challenges faith. Cancer destroys lives and devastates families. But cancer doesn’t get to win. We can fight back. We can defy. We can resist.

Exercise is an important factor in reducing the incidence of cancer as well as improving outcomes in those touched by cancer. Staying active throughout chemotherapy and radiation is an important yet often overlooked aspect of care.  It requires instruction and supervision by qualified professionals with specialized training in oncology rehabilitation and exercise. Many of those diagnosed with cancer do not have access to quality fitness because of financial restrictions due to the cost of cancer treatments. By having access to oncology specific exercise, individuals are given the tools to fight back against the devastating effects of cancer.

“As a Certified Public Accountant, exercise had been my stress outlet prior to my diagnosis, however after my surgery I was unsure what I could/should do and how quickly. Jacob Miller and the program assessed my capabilities after surgery, monitored each and every sessions and challenged me to get back to my pre-surgery strength, cardio and endurance levels."
